Camden Karczewski
Camden Karczewski has established himself as one of the most consistent and reliable middle infielders to come out of the Joliet area in recent years. Known for his exceptional baseball IQ, leadership qualities, and smooth defensive actions, Camden has built a collegiate career defined by consistency, durability, and winning baseball.
Karczewski began his collegiate career at Triton College, where he was one of the top performers in the NJCAA. During his two seasons (2022-2023), he compiled a .368 batting average, .432 on-base percentage, .487 slugging percentage, and .919 OPS while collecting 127 hits in 95 games. His offensive production and defensive reliability quickly attracted the attention of Division I programs across the country. He was an All Region Shortstop while at Triton.
After earning more than 20 full-scholarship Division I offers, Camden transferred to Purdue Fort Wayne, where he was a two-year starter at shortstop during the 2024 and 2025 seasons. He then completed his collegiate career at Illinois State during the 2026 season, competing in the Missouri Valley Conference. Across his three NCAA Division I seasons, Camden appeared in 152 games, recording 176 hits while posting a .302 batting average, .365 on-base percentage, .387 slugging percentage, and .752 OPS against high-level Division I competition.
Defensively, Karczewski has been a model of consistency at shortstop. During his Division I career, he accumulated 607 total chances, 212 putouts, 374 assists, and a .965 fielding percentage. Widely regarded as one of the smoothest defensive infielders from the Joliet area, his glove work combined with steady leadership has made him a valuable asset to every team.
His accomplishments include earning 2025 Horizon League First Team All-Conference honors at shortstop while at Purdue Fort Wayne and 2026 Missouri Valley Conference First Team All-Conference honors at shortstop while at Illinois State. Beyond the statistics and awards, Camden’s reputation among coaches has been built on his work ethic, preparation, and dependability. As one collegiate coach stated, “Camden is the same player no matter who we are facing. It doesn’t matter if we are playing LSU, Wright State, or having a scrimmage, Camden is going to be a .300 + D1 career hitter.”
A proven leader with extensive collegiate experience, Camden combines offensive consistency, defensive reliability, and a deep understanding of the game. His work ethic, baseball instincts, and ability to perform consistently on both sides of the ball have made him one of the most respected infielders to emerge from the Joliet area and a valuable asset to any organization seeking a high-character player capable of contributing both on and off the field.
